Overview:

Estrella del Mar is a Mazatlan, Mexico golf and beach resort that encompasses 3.5 miles of beachfront property, an 18-hole championship golf course, clubhouse, condominiums, boutique hotel, and home sites. After several years of stagnant sales, the owners at Estrella del Mar brought in a new management and marketing team in 2003.

IIM was contracted and immediately tasked with a complete overhaul of the existing resort website and the development of a new Internet marketing plan.

Using Internet skills honed on previous projects like El Dorado Ranch, IIM staff crafted designs and strategies that resulted in nearly instant returns.

Results:

Because broadband Internet access was becoming more prevalent and the resort’s target market was internationally-based, the initial Estrella del Mar designs incorporated photographic and virtual tours. Technologies utilized included Flash, java, IPIX and HotMedia. These tours enabled online visitors to virtually experience every element of the scenic oceanfront resort. Vacation visitors toured beaches, resort grounds and the golf course. Potential real estate clients virtually walked through oceanfront condominiums, home sites and the properties from all vantage points.

As with other projects, when the initial site was launched, aggressive search engine, linkage and online marketing programs were utilized. Ad tracking and ROI tools enabled IIM staff to quickly determine the most effective methodologies for attracting traffic and lead conversions.

Traffic began to increase and management began receiving quality leads on a daily basis. These efforts yielded millions of dollars in direct real estate sales, travel packages, and golf reservations. Today, Estrella del Mar is in it's fourth phase of development and is considered the premiere residential resort in the Mazatlan area.
